GMPLS Network Emulator

GMPLS technology that will inevitably change how transport networks The image “http://www.navtelcom.com/images/gmpls_ne_ss.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.and optical backbones accommodate continuous and potentially significant changes in network access traffic flows (versus traditional PSTN voice traffic). Utilizing the information retrieved from enhanced routing protocols, optical devices can be provisioned for traffic flows in minutes (as opposed to days or weeks).

For most optical vendors GMPLS is a ‘bolt-on’ control plane to manage an existing optical transmission plane, where the control plane needs to be tested in a logically progressively manner, ensuring that each iterative step is thoroughly tested.

Navtel’s GMPLS Solutions include:

It utilizes a complete GMPLS protocol stack for each emulated node, ensuring a cost-effective network solution, designed to provide control plane emulation of real world networks. It supports emulation of up to 30 TNE or label switched routers (LSRs) on a single workstation, allowing creation and verification of Label Switched Paths (LSPs), including error insertion and LSP/LSR failure.

The GMPLS Network Emulator provides support for extensions to RSVP-TE for traffic engineering and establishment of bi-directional LSPs in optical core networks. It also supports hierarchical LSPs, which allow for nested or a tunneled set of LSPs of different media, carrying a mix of traffic.

The GMPLS Nework Emulator also provides testing for link bundling, delivering optimization of internal databases by allowing link aggregation and unnumbered links having no IP addresses. Negative testing includes the ability to take down links both at the physical and protocol level as well as take down nodes.

The GMPLS InterEmulator provides research & development labs of network operators and equipment manufacturers a comprehensive, scalable GMPLS emulation solution to test and deploy GMPLS switched networks.

Navtel provides a complete suite of GMPLS test products from Conformance to Network Emulation. The GMPLS Network Emulator provides GMPLS (Network) Emulation of GMPLS devices.
