The powerful OC-48c/STM16 POS (Packet over SONET/SDH) interface module is designed to provide wire rate data capture, monitoring and transmission, while performing real time simultaneous analysis of the seven OSI layers.

This module provides a dual port SC physical interface for POS OC-48c/STM-16 for the InterWatch platform. It operates at 2488.32 Mbps using a 1300 nm single mode optical fibre.

Up to 4 OC-48c modules (8 ports) can be plugged into the InterWatch 96000 unit, 2 modules (4 ports) on the InterWatch M7 (95000)/M7, allowing comprehensive system load testing across multiple ports simultaneously and in-service full-duplex monitoring.

The POS OC-48c/STM16 interface provides application testing support for leading IPv4/IPv6, VoIP and MPLS & GMPLS technologies. It includes the ability to test equipment with traffic from up to 1022 simultaneous IP connections per port. User-definable filters provide comprehensive data capture and real-time analysis. IP Performance (RFC 2544) measurements. The interface also provides generation of multiple IP and MPLS traffic flows on each port with a complete IP/TCP/UDP stack.
