IPX Mobile interconnect
In the IPX Mobile interconnect environment, SBCs represent the interconnecting nodes between Mobile Operators. In this environment the key functions of the SBC are:
- Distributed and Integrated Signalling and media
- Support of different addressing schemes and NAT and firewall traversal
- Topology hiding for both signalling and media
- QoS enforcement to verify that the various domains does not exceed negotiated sessions and bandwidth
- Security against Rouge signalling and SIP signalling attacks
Navtel Solution:
- 256,000 unique endpoints, 128,000 RTP streams and thousands of calls per second from a single chassis to emulate large scale customer deployments in other to verify the Scalability, Performance and Reliability of an SBC
- Large scale Gateway emulation to emulate Interconnected Mobile Operators
- NAT emulation to test the SBC capability to traverse NATs and Firewall
- Flexible VLAN support to test the ability of the SBC to host multiple overlapping IP address space
- TOS/DSP marking on a per emulated subscriber to emulate various types of services or to differentiate among various Corporate Service Level agreements
- Theft of service emulation to test the SBC ability to perform Bandwidth Policing to ensure that sessions do not exceed total negotiated rates
- Mix of codec support to emulate various types of subscriber endpoints within the various Mobile Operators network and to test the SBC Session Admission Control mechanisms
- Per Codec, VLAN and TOS statistics views for easy identification of each Mobile Operator traffic
- Media and Path Verification to verify Routing, TOS remarking and Theft of Service Protection capabilities of the Router
- QoS, and VQT analysis for verifying Quality of end user experience
- High Call generation & Registration message rates to test the SBC ability to perform Signalling Rate limiting to protect the Mobile Operators networks from SIP attacks
- Transparent support of two distinct implementations of the SBC where Signalling and Media can be on same or separate IP address.
