Position: FPGA Hardware Developer
Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada

Navtel is the market leader for high-performance and large scale test solutions for communications networks that are designed to support next generation services such as Voice over IP and Fixed Mobile Convergence (IMS). Navtel’s applications are unique in their ability to generate high call rates and emulate large scale NGN networks comprising of hundreds of thousands of subscribers.

The successful candidate is required to work with hardware, software and test developers within Navtel’s R&D department.   Actively participate in the development of Navtel products in a variety of FPGA design activities such as FPGA architecture, create design specification, RTL coding, functional and post-layout simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, etc.   Good written and oral English Language Skills are essential.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related degree with related experience.
  • 1-3 years experience with large scale multi-designer FPGA design and development.
  • RTL code design using VHDL or Verilog hardware descriptive language.
  • Experience with synthesis (synopsys/synplify) and place&route.
  • Verification methodology and test bench development (ModelSim and Tcl).
  • Experience with hardware board skills such as signal integrity, thermal, power and grounding.
  • Familiar with version control tools.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols, especially Ethernet, IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, RTP and SIP.
